About Us
J&J organization Inc. formerly known as Jonathan & Joyce Foundation is a 501(c)3 registered non- profit foundation established for the purpose of bringing relief to indigent children and other vulnerable and disadvantaged groups (such as widows, orphans, destitute, refugees, IDPs etc.) in the society. Birthed on strong Christian principles of charity & love for humanity, the organization is focused on initiating impactful projects that provides financial autonomy, education and access to quality health services to children and vulnerable people across the globe.
Why we exist
Poverty is a disease that prevents the poor and vulnerable from attaining their full potential in life. It makes it difficult for them to have access to basic health care services, quality education or afford the basic things of life. This increases infant mortality, illiteracy, malnutrition and poor health. This is the Plight of the poor and vulnerable among us and there is hardly a safe space for their voices to be heard.
The most affected among the poor, are the children who as a result of poverty find themselves on the streets, roaming about as Out of School Children for daily survival. They are usually malnourished and lack proper shelter and medical care. According to UNESCO 244 million children between the ages of 6 and 18 worldwide are still out of school. World Bank report in 2020, shows that Nigeria has 11 million Out of School children, which is the highest in the world. The figure further increased to 18.5 million with majority being girls (UNICEF: 2021). Out of school children/youths pose a threat to our immediate communities and nation at large because they are easily lured to engage in social vices such as armed robbery, drug addiction, rape and violence. Many people of African descent in diaspora are also caught in the web of poverty and social discrimination making it difficult for them to achieve their full potentials.
J&J exist to help initiate and implement projects that alleviate the sufferings of the poor and vulnerable among us. We recognize the plight of people of African descent in diaspora and are passionate about helping them live decent lives. On the whole, J&J foundation aspires to create a safe space for the voices of the poor and marginalized to be heard and help them attain their full potentials in life.
